Gray's Graduates 'Aberdeen' Exhibition

Gray's Graduates, formed in 1922 is a group of practising artists who share a common heritage in thatr they all trained at Gray's School of Art in Aberdeen, one of the foremost art colleges in the country.

This year they have chosen MUSA as the venue and Aberdeen as the theme for their exhibition.  The exhibition brings together contrasting and complimentary styles in a range of media. This interesting work brings a familiar local tone to MUSA and coincides with Scottish Food Fortnight in September.

We have prints, oil paintings, ceramics designed around the MUSA ambience, stunning modern jewellery and photography. Animation art is by Jessica Ricketts with a very pleasing portrayal of Aberdeen as a city.....and more than oil!

Jessica Ricketts' work studies the organic nature of Aberdeen, diverging from the sterotypical image of its oil built civilisation.  She has particularly focused on the historical culture, parks and architecture.  She has strived to emphasise through medium and colur the abundant beaty of a city which can be overlooked.
