Trees in the Landscape

Press and Journal Art Review15th April

Press and Journal Art Review 16th April

Trees in the Landscape is a wonderful reflection on the diversity of the trees which are so vital to our very existence.  Not only do they cleanse our atmosphere, they provide stunning visual images and the subjects for some remarkable art.  Contrast the remarkable crisp black and white prints by Sandy Menzies with the powerful deep dark oil paintings by Alex Kay.  Compare the unique way in which Debbie Neil captures the essence of a landscape with the vibrant expressive work of Alan Florence.  There are others too such as the technically superb ceramics of Fiona Duckett and Brian Cook Shand.  There are imaginative pencil drawings from Laura Murray and spectacular water colours which stretch the limits of the medium by Susie Hunt. We once again welcome the innovative video animation art of Phil Thomson.
